The PGA Golf Tour's FedEx Playoffs conclude with the The Tour Championship hosted by the East Lake Golf'Club in Atlanta, Georgia September 23rd through the 26th. This year's tournament will be minus last years FedEx Champion, Tiger Woods. The PGA's press release tried to make the best of a bad situation by looking at the bright side of not having their ratings and cash cow in the final tournament.
In their press release, the PGA attempted to put a positive light on the absence of Tiger. "No matter who has the advantage, there will be a new face as the FedEx Cup champ. Two-time and defending FedEx Cup champ Tiger Woods did not make the top 30."
The new favorite to win The Tour Championship is Phil Mickelson at 7-1 according to the Las Vegas Hilton Superbook, but remember that this is the Las Vegas odds. The favorite on the odds sheet is a direct correlation to who is the most popular and known golfer. This is why Tiger Woods has been the betting favorite all year as he suffers through his worst PGA season of his career.
