This is another deep position in the National League, and the top players on this list are just a half step below being franchise level. Young players dominate this position as well. If a fantasy power is able to snag two players off of this list, they would have the makings on an outstanding outfield.

1) Colby Rasmus, St. Louis Cardinals

Rasmus had a very good season (.276/.361/.498 over 534 PAs) in 2010, despite the controversy that swirled around him and Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa. His defense fell off significantly last year, which fueled rumors that Rasmus was pouting and not giving his best effort in the field. However, there was a lot of improvement in Rasmus last year. Perhaps the most promising was his ability to control the strike zone with an excellent walk rate (11.8% of his PAs); his strikeout rate (27.72%) was extremely high for the 2010 season. That is something that needs to come down if Rasmus wants to maintain a healthy batting average. Another area he needs to improve is his stolen base abilities (12 steals, eight caught in 2010), and if he can improve on that to say 15+ steals a year it would really increase his fantasy value. Rasmus already is an excellent fantasy player, though he is not a franchise level player. A 2011 season with a .270+ average, 22+ homers, 70+ RBIs, 80+ runs and 8-10 steals is certainly doable for him. At auction, expect him to going the $25-27 range.
